Frozen In Time

I was knocking on your window pain
when we were seventeen.
I wonder where you are today.
I wonder what I mean to say.

It's always been amiss to me
that we were, sometimes, strangers.
It's funny how we let the chances go
when so little means so much.

Meanwhile, the time is passing by.
I will never know
what made me decide to go.
Part of my life
frozen in time.

So many years have come between
the people we were yesterday.
Now we both have children of our own,
lives we choose to lead.

Circumstances living in the past.
I can see the way.
The feeling seems to last.
Part of my life,
frozen in time.

The future is a mystery.
Anything can happen.
It's good to know that some things never change
in the present and the past.
